About A Show of Hands

So what can you expect at a SoH Market?

Fun & Fantastic Shopping:

Every market we strive to select a fantastic cross section of talented, creative and inventive handcrafters, designers, makers, and local small businesses to bring the local community a unique shopping experience.

Free All Ages Craft Workshops:

We want to share our love of handmade by making you part of the craft action! Each event will host a number of fun all ages handcrafting short workshops. Registration will be at the event on the date and seats will be limited.

Family Photo Booth:

A fun family feature at each event is the opportunity to get your seasonal family photos taken by a talented professional family portrait photographer! An easy opportunity to get your images for Christmas cards, presents, and momentos done while you shop.

Live & Local Music:

We are proud to be show casing a range of local musical talent - because shopping is so much better with good music! Local musicians and music students are invited to do short acoustic sets to show case their talents, sell their CDs, or promote their services.

Meet Your Marketers:

A Show of Hands is the creative endeavor of Torben & Sheri Becker. A home crafter/floral designer & a fine woodworker who happen to also be a husband and wife team based right here in the Cowichan Valley.

We have a passion for all things handcrafted, sustainable, and for supporting local art initiatives and community culture. What better way to showcase those passions than through a fun and family focused craft design market event!

Food:

So excited to announce the fantastic foodie who will be keeping all of our bellies full on the day. Chef Karrie Hill of Deadbeetz Foodtruck based out of Victoria provides a delicious menu devoted to local & seasonal ingredients with a West Coast flair. She specializes in scrumptious burgers and curries and her menu offers yummy eats for both meat eaters and vegans alike. Oh, and trust me her signature veggie chips are not to be missed! Her accomplishments also include being featured on this seasons Eat St. on the Food Network - Go local talent!
